Meet Sherrod Martin

Sherrod Martin, founder of Fostering Dads, brings more than a decade of firsthand experience as a foster father in Arizona. After facing the reality of being unable to have biological children, Sherrod and his wife, Sarah, chose to open their home to children in need through fostering—a decision they often describe as “the hardest and best thing we've ever done.”

Over nearly 11 years, Sherrod and Sarah welcomed 28 children into their home. Along the way, they adopted four and became permanent legal guardians to a fifth, building a family rooted in resilience, compassion, and commitment.

Through their journey, they have experienced the full spectrum of foster care—from profound joy to deep challenges—and understand the unique complexities foster parents face. Today, Sherrod uses that experience to support and mentor other foster dads, drawing from real-life lessons, hard-earned wisdom, and a genuine passion for helping families thrive.

Sherrod and his family currently reside in Arizona with their five children.
